Entry #4: Themes and Fate [Due 11/24]

For this BLOG entry, you have 2 choices again. Pick one of them...

(1) If you are close enough to the end of your book or finished with it... What point was the author trying to make about the world or the human condition (theme)? and how does that fate of the main character(s) relate to that point?

(2) If you are not close enough to the end to identify the theme of the book... Tell us if the book is true/accurate in its portrayal of human nature, society, and the human condition.

I finished my book. The theme in my book is "No matter how experienced or inexperienced you are, if you try your best, you can exceed at anything.

The fate of Alex Rider relates to this theme. Alex Rider had to find out information about the new program "Stormbreaker." In order to find the information he needed, Alex had to sneak around H.S Enterprises. H.S Enterprises was heavily guarded with men who carried weapons. Alex had only 2 weeks to prepare for this. During Alex's training, he was restricted the use of a gun jump out of a plane.

Alex had to do both of those things with no experience. Alex tried his best, and successfully saved many school children. Alex had to both shoot a gun and jump out of a plane. Alex tried his best, and he successfully completed the goal he was set for.

My book's theme was to not be a bully.

When Robin Miller had to leave her friends in Denver she didn't understand how she had hurt the people her and the people in the "Six-Pack" (the name the group was called) traumatized. When she got to Oklahoma she learned that bullying was a major problem in schools.

With this experience Robin got to be interviewed by a hit tv show with her friends and the person she had picked on.Robin Miller made a difference in her school and showed everyone in her town that bullying can be stopped if and when someone stands up for whoever is being bullied.

My book that i read was Evil Star. I do not believe the book has a theme it is a fictional book although it takes place in the late 20th centrey, and is about a boy, Matthew Freeman, who is one of the five, one of the five who will save the world from the 'Old Ones.' Based on what has happened in the book the theme might be No matter how bleak the future may seen you have do the best you can or that Friendship is worth much more than anything else.

The book im reading is called Storm Thief. The theme of my book is "don't give up and don't forget about your friends."

Rail and Moa are great friends and partners. At one event Rail and Moa were about to leave there secret hideout when Moa, found a artifact by her room. She put it on and beautiful colors came out of the artifact. Rail saw Moa and said take it off, but Moa couldn't and right after the artifact turned on. There was a knock at the door it was a officer that worked for the currupt government. Rail and moa had seconds before the door came crashing down. Moa was scared but she didn't give and then the artifact on her arm started to glow and Moa disapered. For a second she was really surpised then she remebered about Rail and went to save him. As soon as the door was busted open Moa grabbed Rail they both got away.

This event had to do with the theme because when they had only seconds to react to the situation. Moa didnt give and she and Rail were able to get away.

The book that I am currently reading would be hard to relate to the way of human life. This is because the characters in “Redwall” are all mice, except the way they act, feel, behave, communicate, and function truly interests me. They live exactly like people would and that is some of the reason why I was pulled into reading this great book. If one was to read the book not knowing that all of the characters were really mice, they would think that everyone was a human without a doubt. I believe that Brian Jacques maybe put mice in the book for the exact reason I was drawn to it. It definitely puts some variety in the books one would read, assuming that most of the books someone reads are about people.

I finished my book. The book is called "Cross my Heart and Hope to Spy". The theme of my book is " Things happen for a reason".

In the end if the previose book "I'd tell you I love you but then I'd have to kill you" Cammie's boyfriend Josh found out that she went to Gallegar Accademy and he accidently "saves her" when they were having their finals. In the end Josh takes a memory loss potion. In this book Cammie goes out of the Accademy more often so it was impossible to have kept it a seceret for much longer. Also when Cammie mets the boy spy Zach who falls in love with her it shows that they can be together and not be in trouble.

I read So B. It and the theme of the book is live for today and not worry about the past. This girl Heidi was so worried about her past that when she was out searching for the answers her disabled mom dies. She should of spent those extra days with her mama and not thinking about her past. Now she has to live the rest of her life knowing that she wasn't with her mama when she died.

caitlinD5Mr Haase: Is it okay that I answer both questions? The book(s) I am reading are the Secrets of My Hollywood Life. It's really the premise of a teenage starlet who's life revoles around her job. The theme of these books are "everything is not what it seems", as well as "don't let other people pressure you: it's your life."Kaitlin is pressured to do and say certain things to make the world happy, and she's had enough. She decides to go to a regular school under an alias, even though the press is spreading ridiculous rumors about her. The author was editor of Teen People magizine, so I think she knows what Hollywood is really like. I think Kaitlin's life does model those of today's starlets.

I finished my book. The theme in my book is " Always do what's right because it may affect the person you are today."

The fate of Samantha relates to this theme. When Samantha saw an armed man near the president, she knew the right thing to do was try and stop him. And that is what Samantha did. She jumped in front of the gunman to prevent him from shooting and killing the president. Because of this decision it really affected Samantha's life after. She became more popular and she became a teen ambasador of the US. And those two things changed her life.

I have finished reading my book. The theme in this book is that you never know what's going to happen until its too late.

The ending of the story was totally unexpected and surprising. The fate of Anna Fitzgerald relates to this theme. In the end Anna is the one who experiences something that would be expected to happen to Kate. It also shows how life is too short to hold grudges.

I am almost finished with my book Everlost. The theme of the book is to always have confidence because it can get you through tough times. Nick and Allie's experiences at times were tough whether it was trying to escape the "McGill" or out smarting "The Haunter" but their positive attitude got them throught it. For the most part they did not want to be in Everlost so they had to make the best of it. Their confidence was key. There were many parts when they used their confidence. Since Allie is an Afterlight she is unable to touch living items. When "The Haunter" demanded her to pick up a rock (which was a living item), she didn't gave up. She told her self over and over that she can do it. Before she knew it, the rock was in her hands. This shows that in Everlost it is important to have a good attitude.

Hey Mr. Haase it's Brennan S form your period 2 class. The theme of my book is "Always be the best person you can be".

Slam is the best player on his school basketball team. He didn't have the best players, but he made the best of them. They started out with an okay season and made it to the playoffs. In the championship game, Slam tried his hardest to play good defense and good offense with the help of his teammates double teaming the ball so he could get a steal and scoring a lot of points. When he found out his friend was dealing drugs he tried his hardest not to be mad, but he couldn't help it because his friend had heart his feelings by lying to him about not dealing drugs.

I started my second book, but I cannot identify the theme this early in the book, so I am going to write about my first book, "Prom". The theme of "Prom" is no matter how bad things seem, everything can still turn out for the better in the end. Ashley's senior year wasn't really what she expected. She had a list of detentions to make up, boyfriend problems, and the prom money just got stolen by her algebra teacher! By the looks of it, senior year was going to be the worst year ever. However, by the end of the book, Ashley and her best friend Natalia raise enough money to have a senior prom and Ashley makes up her list of detentions so she is able to go to the prom. Ashley and her boyfriend T.J. end up breaking up, but it is for the better, for Ashley anyway. T.J. was a bad influence on Ashley and now she doesn't have to worry about anything like that. I think Ashley's fate was different than what she anticipated. She thought she wasn't going to pull of the whole prom thing meanwhile she did. I think Ashley's fate was what she wanted, but not what she expected.

The book I am done reading is Fatality. The theme of this book is that "no matter how things seem you cannot be sure until the very end." The fate of the main character (Rose) is realted to that point because it seemed as if Rose had seen the whole murder happen and she was trying to protect Milton Loft, but that was not the case in this story. Milton Loft was not the murder and Rose did not see anything.

I am reading a book called New Moon. The theme of this book is that "no matter what hardships you face in life, you have to overcome them, and eventually forget about them". When Edward leaves Bella, at first she is sad but she overcomes it by making new friends, or spending time at the movies. For a while she forgets about Edward trying not to think about him, but sometimes he is talking to her in her mind.

I finished my book. The theme of my book is, "Even if you don't have anything else-friends will always be there to support you." In my book the main character was accused of something he didn't do and as a result was literally speechless. His best friend was there every step of the way to help him. The fate of the main character relates to this theme. If the main character's friend did not help him speak and prove that he was innocent, the main character would have ended up in jail and he would still not be able to speak. The main character had no supporters but his friend's support helped him solve his problems.

I finished my book. The theme of my book is you can't always believe what you see and hear.

The book Scorpia relates to this theme because when alex is shown a video of his father dying he finds out that the person shot was a fake and that his dad was still alive. Then he was told his father died in a plane crash
This books theme tells that you shoul'dnt believe everything without realizing the whole story behind it.

The theme of my book is "always hold out to the end no matter how tough it may be."

The fate of daniel relates to the theme. During the time of the nazi party slowly gaining power, only germans were respected and jews obviously weren't. Daniel's family was half and half, so life was tough. His father lost his job, Daniel was kicked out of his school and his best friend is now a leader of the S.A. This family had to hold out until this raid of nazi terror was over.

I am finished with my book "Peaches". The theme of my book I believe was that 'your true friends are the ones that will stay by you know matter what is going on.'

The fate of the three main characters relates to the theme in a way that is really cool. Leeda and Murphy both landed on the orchard by doing something that they would probably regret.During spring break the three girls ended up on the orchard by chance, and became somewhat friends. During the summer they ended up on the orchard by fate, and became sisters.
During the summer they came closer to each other and they told each other everything. Their bond became so close that when Leedas boyfriend was trying to kiss Murphy she turned away. They got into a huge fight and Birdie brought them back together. Birdie learned not to be so shy and good behaved that summer. Murphy actually learned what being a good friend meant. Leeda learned to be more daring and not to be so perfect. They learned all of this at Darlington Peach orchard that summer and that is what made them the best friends that they would ever have.

The main characters in my book were brought together by fate and through thick and thin they knew that they would always have each other.
My book "Peaches" was such a good book and I would recommend it to any girl. It taught me a good lesson that I will never forget, your true friends are your sisters and you should cherish and love them forever.

I am close to finishing my book. The theme of my book is "don't listen to everything you hear."

The fate of Rich and Jade relates to the theme because everytime somebody told them about their father they believed them and them ended up getting tricked. Every person who told them something wasn't telling the whole truth.

Even though they believed everything they heard they started to think about if this was the truth or a lie. They tried their best to find their father even though they believed everything they heard.

My book is titled "My Family and Other Animals" and i think it is fairly accurate in its description of human and nature. It is a non-fiction book about the author's childhood on the island of Corfu. Being that is on an island, The story is excluded from most of the world so it doesn't exactly have a portrayal society. Even though I am not done with this book. i have a guess that this book will end up just talking about his family and animals as the theme. This book was probably made just so the author could reminisce and make a few bucks along the way.

People seem to be making the misconception that a theme is a lesson of the story. This is not always true as the theme is actually just what the whole story is about. Of course the theme CAN be a lesson but this is not always true so don't stress yourself if you can't find something you learned from the book that is considered helpful in your life. Just describe what happened.

The theme of my book is “ Don’t hide behind your secrets, just be yourself.” The theme relates to Cammie’s fate. When Cammie meets this guy she is forced to hide the secret about where she goes to school. Cammie does a great job of hiding her secret, but it really hurts her inside. When Josh finds out he is disappointed and so is Cammie and they decided to go their separate ways. Cammie also thinks she will never find a guy who she can be trustful with because of her secret.

The theme of my book is "Don't be afraid of the truth." For almost thirty years Sylvie hid Rose's existence from Gerald because she feared that he would divorce her if he found out the truth. Not until after Gerald's death did Sylvie find out that he would have accepted her for what she did and loved Rose as if she were his daughter. She could have avoided the web of lies that she wove to cover up Rose, as well as the problems that she faced with her two daughters. Rose would have also had a better life with two parents who loved her for who she was.

I finished my book. My book was called "what if you broke all the rules." It was a great book and proves that a teenage life is hard to live. The theme in my book is "Make the best Of everything." Haley goes through alot with her family and friends and soon enough it turns out okay. She gets to go on her spring break with her friends, and is on a good path with a boy she likes. Even though her parents are not always home and are fighting, she still manages to take care of her younger brother and go on the spring trip she has been dieing to go on. Haley is just another teenage girl going though the same thing as many teenages. So all you can do is stick it out and everything will turn out okay!!

The book I am reading is called "The Giver". This book is not accurate in portraying humans. The characters live in a society that is not like ours at all. There are tons of weird rules in this community. Citizens are never allowed to leave. At certain ages, certain things happen. When you are twelve, there are people who pick what your job will be in the community. When you turn nine, you finally get a bike. Also you cannot have children so you get a baby chosen for you if you want one. That means that whoever your mother is, is not really your mother. Every time family units have breakfast, each member has to tell about there dreams. Even thought there are all these rules, every one is happy and no one really cares about the rules.

I am finished with my book A Wrinkle in Time. I think that the author was trying to make a point about the world, and human condition. I think the theme of this book is “things can always get worse, so don’t be afraid” and “it’s a good thing that everyone is different”. I think these points were trying to be made throughout the plot of the book. I thought of these themes based on what the characters said, how they felt, and how they reacted in different situations. “Things could always get worse” because even though Meg was depressed, lost her brother to IT, and her dad had not saved her, she thought of how things could get worse, and it helped her to overcome her fears. “It is a good thing that everyone is different”. I think this because in the dark world Camazotz everyone is exactly the same and do things in the exact same rythym. The protagonists, especially Meg found this extremely boring and depressing. I think that the author was trying to make a point about the world, and human condition.

The book I recently finished is named Vampire Plagues London. 1850. This was written by Sebastian Rook. The point I think the author is trying to point out is that “Team work can make a miraculous change.”
Well this is shown in the book when in the beginning all the characters were either sick, being starved or didn’t have any form of shelter or food. Eventually all these characters met do to destiny. Then they realized that they had to defeat a Mayan God that was powerful. They all worked together and took down this enormous monster and it shows you that team work brings change.

Also it is reality to have one of these people who di be a loved one or someone you knew.Everything that happens in this book can easily happen in an american society.

I have finished my book. I think that the theme of the book is that "If you set your mind on doing something, you can succeed."

THe fate of Eragon relates to this theme. At first, Eragon was a simple farm boy living with his uncle and cousin. But during the book, he trains to be a skilled swordsman, owner of a dragon, and a user of magic. In the end of the book, which I believe was about a year from the beginning of the book, he kills one of the most powerful shades ever known. This obviously shows that the theme of the book is what I have said.

My book is Jingle Boy by Kieran Scott and I am almost finished with it. I think the author was trying to create a theme that said, "no matter what happens, you have to look on the positive side and that it's always better to do the right thing." The main character, Paul, had been obsessed over getting revenge at Scooby, so he kept trying and everything backfired at him. He was always gloomy and anti-Christmas when he used to be jolly and obsessed with Christmas. As a result, he became more jealous and his best friend left him. His parents kept trying to stay positive eventhough they were going through a crisis and when Paul was acting very dull, they got upset and it hurt them. In addition, Paul and his anti-Christmas friends went to jail. This was a result of trying to do the wrong thing (getting Scooby back) and Paul lost his anti-Christmas friends when his mom came to bail him out, eventhough they were broke, and Paul left those friends to get out of jail.

I finished reading my book. The book I read was called, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." The theme of the book was that the forces of good will overpower the forces of evil.

In the book, The Dark Lord, Voldemort, and his followers, who were called "Death Eaters", wanted to kill Harry, and would harm anyone who tried to stop them. Harry, on the other hand, tried to find the horcruxes in order to defeat Voldemort. In the end of the book, Harry and Voldemort had a huge battle, which Harry won. Even though Voldemort was very powerful, Harry was able to destroy him, which supports the theme that good will conquer evil.

the author of the Pretty Little Liars series was probably trying to say that you should try not to have too many sercets, because they will come back to haunt you. These books are all about Hannah, Spencer, Aria & Emily's secrets and lies that they have trying so hard to keep. Clearly sinse "A" knows everything about these four girls, their lies and secrets are not safe.
I have finished four of the books in this series.

I have one more chapter left in my book so I think that I read enough to know what the theme is. The meaning behind the book "I am Third" is that if you work hard you can get almost anything you want. This relates to Gale because to be good enough to be one of the best players of all time you have to work extreemely hard. Plus, If he did not work as hard as he did when he had his knee injury, he would have had to either quit football or he would never be as good as he used to be. After his football career was over, he had to work hard again to get a job and support his family. Many of his accomplishments have been created by hard work.

The book that i was reading was called "What if all the boys wanted you?" I think the theme that best goes along with this book is "go with the flow and be yourself. Haley goes through alot of high school boy problems and this really shows that she is living the high school life. Always remember don't let boys get the best of you and be yourself. Eventually it will turn out okay! This boo was a great book for me because I do have the same problem with boys. I know everything will turn out okay, just like it did for Haley!!

This can be described as a real life story because of the setting and the fact that the characters are humans. The setting tells us that in nieghborhoods like this one, there are many apparments big and small. Little girl drama is a great idea to tell a story, and a question is that, is it real? So far as a fiction story, there is no big exaggeration of anything or law. I highly reccomend this book so far as real life, but if your looking for a really fake story, then find another book.See you in class and have a good day.

I just finished my book, Bloomability. The point that the author was trying to make was that the world should be a melting pot. It should not matter what race or customs you have, but that everyone should come together, and create peace. In this case, kids from different countries came together, speaking different languages and wearing odd clothing. At the end, these kids learned to accept eachother for who they are, and did not think that these people were different anymore. The fate of the main character relates to this point of the book because if Dinnie did not learn to accept eachothers' differences, everyone would have disliked her. Dinnie would have had an extremly hard time adapting to her new school, and would not have learned how to participate in events with the different, or "odd" people around her.

I am done with the book “For One More Day” by Mitch Albom. The theme of the book is love is still love even when you’ve lost the person. Even though Chick’s mom is dead, he still loves her. He just has to love her in a different way. Instead of loving her company he has to love his memories that he has of her. In the story we are shown how even though Chick doesn’t have his mother right in front of him he still loves her because he can still think of how much of a wonderful person she was when she was alive and everything that they did together. Chick feels like he is with his mother when he thinks of her. His thoughts are how he still loves her.

In the book Midnighters, I feel that the author, Scott Westerfelt was trying to explain a mystical world full of distrust, bitter pride and most frequent -- danger. The characters in Midnighters had constant conflicts with each other, because of personality clashes, pride issues or just the plain feeling of dislike towards him/her. Westerfeld displayed different conflicts that his characters had to face, whether internally or externally. He pointed out that though his some of the characters did not get along, like Jonathan and Rex, they had to work together. That was their fate. Jessica being a firebringer, the darklings worst nightmare was all fate, because the darklings had expected that, and rued the day. Because of Jessica's fate of having that useful but dangerous power, both Jonathan and Rex had to join forces, abilities, and minds in order to protect Jessica and the others. Very simply, what Scott Westerfelt was conveying was how even if you don't get along with the people around you, you have to put up with them and work together in order to protect a common cause. Jessica's destiny related to that because Jonathan and Rex had to work together to find out what was going on with her.

I am about halfway through my third book of the quarter called "Perfect" by Sara Shepard and at this point I believe the theme of the book is "don't do anything that you'll regret later in life."

In this book four girls are being blackmailed by a mysterious person ("A") through text messages. They're being blackmailed about actions they've done in the past that are so serious that it could hurt their future if word got out. Now that they are being blackmailed, the girls regret all of the horrible things that they've done in the past and are trying their best not to let all the secrets get out. Even though this is very unlikely, it can still happen.

I finished the book Fade, a book about a boy who later turns into a man and granted an invisible power throughout his life.

The book teaches that "no matter what you do, destiny cannot be avoided." This is because the rumor that coexisted with the invisible power is when it is used excessivly someone will die. As time goes on the main character Paul vows to never use the power again for thisreason but when he finds out anopther person has recieved the power he makes it his duty to warn them. It turns out that the new beholder of the power was a abused child who is now evil and bitter. This child kills and rampages his city before Paul finds him. When he does a fight starts with the evil child wielding a knife while invisible. To survive, Paul uses his power against the child(his name is Ozzie by the way) to fight back. In the end Ozzie ends up dead. This shows that destiny cannot be avoided even if you vow to avoid it.

I finished the book 19 Minutes. The whole idea of the book was about how frequently and harshly peopleare bullied, they may take "defensive" action. This leads me to believe that the theme of the book is the golden rule, or simply do not hurt any other person. I think Jodi Piccoult believes that the world's students behaviors are out of control. Wedgies, pantsing (don't know how to spell it), punching are just a few of the ways kids are bullied by others. The school shooter, Peter, was bullied from the first day of kindergarden, to the day he decided to enter his school and kill 10 people. This seemed his fate because the popular kids just kept on pushing his buttons until one day he couldn't take it any longer. His lawyer came up with a diagnosis like bullied student syndrome, or something to that effect. If those kids had just been nice to everyone, didn't hurt anybody, nothing would have happened.

My book, "My Sister's Keeper" has a well... interesting theme. Since Anna, the girl in my book is sueing her parents for the right of her own body, I guess that the teme would be to always speak up for your beliefs. If Anna hadn't filed the lawsuit, she would be living on only one kidney, because she would have donated her other one to her sick sister. That is how the fate of Anna relates to this theme. Also another possibly point the author is trying to make is to even if you are fighting against someone that you love, never give in. This relates to the book because the opposing attorney is Anna's mother. Through out the book, Anna keeps on changing her mond on whose side she will be on. Right now, she has decided to go against her mother. But she she keeps on feeling guilt, but only because it is her mother who she is against.

My book, "Lord of the Flies" is inaccurate in the portrayal of humanity. For instance, the book is about a group of kids stranded on an island and are fending for themselves and are hunting, creating signal fires, building shelters and other adult work. And most of the kids are only five or six years old and are still alive after months of struggling.

Another reason is that there is a large beast with fangs and such and these kids are still alive and are not hurt by this beast at all.

And the craziest thing is that none of the kids have been killed or died off. They are all surviving just fine.

I'm close to the end of my 2nd book, God Is Dead. The point that the author, Ron Currie Jr., is trying to make is that we have to rely on ourselves to live. We can't go blaming invisible objects and unknown spirits and looking to them for refuge all the time. In each segment the book is written in, it is focused on a main character who is living in a time where apparently 'God' has literally died after taking form of a human. It satirically explains what their new lives are like and what the world becomes, or forces itself to become.

It is about 4 girls wo are the popular crew and a new girl comes to their school and now since sh was sart and in thir sanish class, they wanted her in her group and she joined. At first she was a really innocent girl but then when she bacame a part of their group, everything changes. Now she changed the way she dressed, acted, and looked. This is definetly somethig that would most likely happen in high school. A new girl meets the popular group, becomes friends with them then she gets caught up in all the drama. Boys, clothes, looks, etc...
It is definetly not unusual!

For this post I will refer to my first book, "The Kite Runner", because it is much better suited for theme. The theme of this book is that you can not bury your past and that friendship can endure almost anything. In this novel the main character witnesses his best friend getting raped by another boy when they were fairly young, about our age. He tries to run away from this problem, and eventually gets rid of his friend (because he is also his servant) by framing him for stealing. He lives another thirty years of his life with his conscience suffering, and then he returns to Kabul, Afganistan, his home. His friend is dead, but he ends up adopting his son after the child saves him. I don't want to give the whole thing away, so it was simply miraculous how everything just fell together in the story, and how the main character struggles with his past and then is free and forgiven with his new son and his wife.

The book I read, "Pretty little Devils" was mysterious. The theme of the book was to don't trust everyone you like. Hazel trusted Sylvia until she did something she could never forgive her for. Hazel thought Sylvia was a good friend but really, she turned out to be someone Hazel didn't want to be around. Hazel learned her lesson.(=<3*

I am close to finishing my book. The theme in my book is "no matter what happens if you work hard and you have the will, desire, and passion to succeed you can do anything."

The theme relates to Sergeant Hamblen because while he was descending off an aircraft rapid wind had taken him and his parachute a-drift onto a highway wher he ran into high tension wires that sliced his leg.Hamblen would later have to amputate his leg.He was put out of commission.Although he was useless he set out a goal to reinstate and become a marine again.

Hamblen from then on trained and trained until he was able to pass the fitness test with his prostetic leg. This just goes to show that no matter what happens you can always find a way.

The book that i am reading is called artemis fowl. The book is not accurate to human nature, society and the human condition. This is because in the book there are such things as fairies that are proven to live on earth. They are also 50 years ahead of us in technology. Also there is such thing as fairy technology that can overrun any syestem on the planet.

I believe that the theme of my book,Blue Bloods,is that you never how a person truly is. And that essentially transfers into the old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover".You would never guess that the people pretty much ruling New York City are blood-feeding vampires. I think that shows that judgment plays a huge role in our society.I mean,if you just found out that the whole Cabinet of the White House were vampires, you'd probably be freaked and leave the country. I think another theme is that you don't always know what's truly going on. In the story, mankind as we know it is always being threatened by an ancient evil. Woah, that's some deep stuff to think about.

I have finished my book Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. This book is not really a book that shows a theme but in a sense it can show you to accept people no matter their differences. If you really care for them and love them they you should accept them for who they are. Like Bella, who is the main character, starts to fall for this perfect man but she finds out that he's a vampire and can be harmful to her. She still decides to still care and love him no matter what he is.

This is the third book I'm reading and it is called "Someone Like You." I think the book is accurate in showing humans' nature, society and the human condition. It is all about a girl who falls in love with who her mother has classified as "the wrong guy." It's very true that sometimes when you love someone enough, you can't stop, no matter what the people around you might say. It's true about society because people always have something to say about someone else...it's just the way humans are. And it's also correct about the human condition because Halley is unconditionally in love with Macon and nothing can stop the way she feels about him. This book is very realistic although it is about fictional people and is all made up. It is very accurate though.

The book that i read was Fallen Angels. There are two themes that the auther is trying to get out in this book. The loss of inicence and the misconception of war. The loss of inicence is scraming in the title. FALLEN ANGELS, the key word is angels. People who are considered angels and nice and inicent. Fallen oviously means dead or diying. The misconception of war is the part where you have a lot of young souldiers trying to get away from home and thinking that the army is the way out and they wount get hurt. But then once they get to vietnam its a totally diferent story. There are people diying and screaming and all of the young inicent angels will probubly die. I think that the auther really got that messege across and put his characters in those potitions to show you what was really going on. This was an awsome book and I encurage people to read the book Fallen Angels.

thank you,
joey

In the last book I finished reading, Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, the theme of the story was to say what you need to say because it's not good to hold it in. In Speak, Melinda goes through the whole year in silence of her past and only communicates when absolutely necessary. The theme relates to the fate of the main character because since she spent the whole year in silence, she has no communication with anyone, or really no life. Her grades are low, her old friends wont speak to her, and she's haunted every day by her conscience. When Melinda finally speaks up and tells her friend why she's been so different, it's not good timing. I don't want to spoil the ending of the book for anyone, so let's say that the effect it has on her friend leads to a big possibly-life changing problem Melinda has to find a solution to in limited time.

The book I read was, Lost and Found. The theme of my book was everyone experiences bad times, but you just have to pick yourself back up again. Rocky's fate related to the theme. After losing her husband, she withdrew from life and didn't let anyone get close to her. She moved to an island just so she could get away from her family and friends and to hide from the world. When Rocky gets over her misery, she starts to really care for the dog, Lloyd, that she found. Rocky begins to let people back in her life and learns that the death of her husband, doesn't mean that it's the end of the world. The fate relates to the theme because Rocky went through bad times, but she picked herself back up and started to live life again.

John Howard Griffin, in his book "Black Like Me", wants to show that there are injustces in todays world as they always existed and probably will be still for a long time, due to incorrigible human nature. He specifically exposes the tragic lives of black people in the Southern States. Griffin also shows how judgemental people are towards others, based on the skin color, type of wardrobe they weare, cars they drive or houses they live in. These superficial assumptions often determine our relations to others. In order to have a true feeling about the situation of blacks, Griffin changed his skin color and settled among Negros of Louisiana, Missouri, and Georgia, traveling for weeks from place to place. He made tens of notes and interviews and photos to put it together as a research project to call attention of a general population to this disturbing topic. Personally he suffered the burdons of everyday lives of Negros. He learned what it means to be hungry or thirsty or hot or cold and not having ways to correct that. Often he was hummiliated just because of the black skin color. He was not valued as a human being who might be inteligent , educated or skillful. His position in the society was determined by the skin color. Eventually Griffin was able to widely expose the conditions of the South and open eyes of general population to how detached with reality we often are , not seeing things that do not touch us personally.

I am reading Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer. I just started it yesterday so I cannot predict the theme just yet. But so far the book is definitely not true/accurate in human nature because their are vampires in the book and, obviously, there are no such thing as vampires. The book does stay true to society because it shows strong friendships and romances throughout the book. This book isn't true to human conditions because I doubt anyone in real life has to go through what, the main character, Bella goes through

The book I am reading is twilight. I think the theme is mainly not to judge a book by it's cover. I think that because of Bella falling in love with edward but not realizing he his a vampire. though throughout the book, it doesn't seem to really effect her.

I Finished my book. I thought the theme was that not be disobediant and ignore the people around you because it will come back and bite you in the butt. One example of this was pinnochio's mom said to not go near the whale because it will bring dangers. So he went on along to the ocean and he wound up getting eaten by a whale. Another example was he was told to stay away from the people in his shool because they wpuld cause mischeif. But onche again pinnochio didn't lisen and one of the boys wound up getting hurt and it was blamed on him.

Period 8
Into Thin Air

I did am very close to the end of my book. The theme of the book is "you have to know your limit." This is a true story about a real 1996 Everest expedition. This book clearly portrays the danger, the sacrifices, and the harsh environment on Mount Everest. These people went to dangerously high altitudes for the thrill they get from climbing. They could easily die with the wrong step. They even sacrifice their lives at home to climb. Rob Hall led the expedition and missed the birth of his first daughter. It turns out he will never get to meet her because he tries extremely hard to get all of his clients up. One of Rob’s clients had difficulties making it to the top but Rob decided to try and help him with every step. Unfortunately neither one of them made it down. If Rob had said to turn around 2 hours sooner, he may have been alive and been able to meet his daughter. But he didn’t and the storm controlled everything on the mountain. It was a very scary night. They lost many people and maybe if they stayed closer and turned around sooner this would not have happened. This is a good book and I would recommend it.

I am done with my book. My author was trying to get the point across that the root of all evil is the love of money. Two characters in my book died because they were killed because other treasure hunters wanted to get the treasure. This is an excellent and true theme.

I am very close to the end of my book. The theme of my book is that the world is very possesed and theres many things going on. Such as Violence, peer pressure, use of inappropriate things. The fate of Jamal Hicks relys on whats going on in the streets of Harlem. Let's hope he listens to his best friend Tito and make the right choice.

Choice One::
I finished my book, i decided thst the theme is that if you love is strong enough you can withstand anything.

The point the author was trying to make about the human condition was that even though a vampire and a human is the most dangerous relationship you can make it work by concentrating on your values.

The fate of the main character relates to that point because Edward craved her blood but fought the pain because he loved her so much more.

I finished my book. The theme of my book was to do
umto others as you would want done to you.

The character sam white always bullies people, cheats on test, lies to people. The theme relates to this boy because he got payback for what he did.

Several things that happend to him was that a boy that he always used to pick on had a growth spert. He got bigger than Sam and now he bullies Sam. Another case is that he cheated on a test got caught, and the answers he copied were all wrong. Finally he got lied to a boy in his school told him that the principle switch the girls and the boys bathrooms. So sam walked into the so called boys bathroom where he foung girls and his guidence councler. So as you can see this is why the theme is to do unto others as you woulg want done to you

The dream of rob was to play football but his parents wouldn't let him so he took madders in his own hands and tryout fr the football team and made it so his dream came try with a little hard work and his dream came realatiy.
